Whitney Siree Richards

Whitney Siree Richards, age 20, of Johnson City, TN passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A native of Washington County, TN she was the daughter of Tonya Richards, Johnson City, TN. Whitney enjoyed wildlife and insects. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Paul Ashley. Survivors in addition to her mother include a son, Brayden Richards, Johnson City; a second mother, Jennifer Ashley, Johnson City; grandparents, Johnny and Pamela Richards, Johnson City and J. R. and Carolyn Hambrick, Elizabethton; several uncles, Adam Ashley, Chris Ashley, Charlie Ashley and Jamie Ashley, all of Elizabethton; several aunts, Trina Price, Lisa Ashley, Tasha Ashley, Angie Ashley and April Ashley, all of Elizabethton; a very special aunt and uncle, Mendy and Matt Honeycutt, Johnson City; several great-aunts and great-uncles of Elizabethton and Johnson City including a special great-uncle, Allen Wilson, Johnson City. Several cousins of Johnson City and Elizabethton and a very special friend, Susie Combs, Johnson City also survive. Funeral service for Whitney Siree Richards will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Dale Greenwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the funeral service or at the residence of grandparents, J. R. and Carolyn Hambrick, 600 McCloud Road, Elizabethton at other times. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 22, 2013 in Ritchie Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Ashley, Adam Ashley, Jamie Ashley, Charlie Ashley, Matt Honeycutt, Justin Adams, Frankie Davis, David Davis and Travis Logan. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.Read Obituary
