Wendell B. Jones

Mr. Wendell B. Jones, age 76, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Stark County, OH he was the son of the late Darrell O. Jones and Pauline Domer Jones Henderson. Mr. Jones was a retired business owner of Sho-Bright Auto Parts. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on Watauga Lake and he loved spending time with his family.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Don Henderson and a son-in-law, Roy Berry. Those left to cherish his memory include the mother of Wendell’s children, Edith Mary Burkey, Elizabethton; three sons, Jeff Jones and wife Jeannie, Greg Jones and wife Tina and Phil Jones and wife Tammie, all of Elizabethton; a daughter, Wendellyn Jones Berry, Elizabethton; nine grandchildren, Jared Blaine Jones, Jameson Jones, Damon Jones, LeAnne Jones, Nathaniel Jones, Emily Natasha Jones, Bailey Jones, Levi Jones and Corey McKinney; two great-grandchildren, Abbie Jones and Dalton Jones; two sisters, Janet Blount, Alliance, OH and Debbie Hicks, Dickson, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Wendell B. Jones will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with a Christian prayer by Chris McKinney. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service.The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Shane Adams; nurses, Wendy Clark, Annaleise Alonso, Chesnie Cox, Rebecca Reeves and LeAnne Brummitt for their care to Mr. Jones.Read Obituary
