Wanda Presnell

Mrs. Wanda Presnell, 88, of Gray, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 in the Holston Valley Medical Center Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Paul and Axie Bowman Jenkins and was born in Washington County, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Ward.Mrs. Presnell was a 1945 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson City. She was retired from ITT and Sperry Corp. She enjoyed her home and loved her cat, Booty.She is survived by her husband, Gene Presnell, of the home; two daughters, Sheila Faye Adkins, and her husband, Ken, Dandridge, TN; Barbara Diane Bowman and her husband, Randy, Greeneville, TN; two sons, Glen Ward and his wife, June, Kingsport; Allen Ward and his wife, Sandy, Kingsport; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and her special friends, Elsie Painter, Gray; and Betty Long, Fort Myers, FL.A service to honor the life of Mrs. Presnell will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Dean Presnell and Rev. Arthur Joyce officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mike Presnell. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:30 – 7:00 PM on Monday prior to the service.The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Fairview Cemetery in Washington County. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 9:50 AM on Tuesday.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Christy for her love and support given to Mrs. Presnell during her illness.Read Obituary
