Virginia Ramsey Stout

Virginia Ramsey Stout, age 88, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Douglas, WY she had resided in Carter County since 1947 and was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Hazel Copenhaver Ramsey. Mrs. Stout was a homemaker and she was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy O. Stout; a son, Kenneth Stout; brothers, James M. “Jimmy” Ramsey and Bobby Ramsey and a sister, Betty Ramsey Mink. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Sue Stout Franz and husband Freddy, Hidalgo, TX; a granddaughter, Lisa Appleby, Rockford, IL; a great-grandson, Josh Appleby and a great-great-granddaughter, Alyssa Appleby, both of Rockford, IL; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Stout Barrett and husband Stephen, Johnson City and a sister, Mary Ann Ramsey McNeil, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews and special friends Regina Smith and Carol Hunt also survive. Graveside service for Virginia Ramsey Stout will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 22, 2012 in Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Jim Perkins officiating. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Lewis, Mike Mills, Steve Guinn, J. D. Smith, Stephen Barrett and Johnny Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary McNeil, Joey McNeil, Jeff Mink, Joe Mink, Bobby Ramsey, Keith McNeil, Freddy Franz, Josh Appleby and Ralph Stout. Everyone will meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services, Elizabethton, TN at 12:15 P.M. on Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services, Elizabethton, TN from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Sunday, October 21, 2012. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, the Third Floor staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and to the nurses of 5400 at the Johnson City Medical Center for their care of Mrs. Stout.Read Obituary
