Vestal Wayne Bennett

Mr. Vestal Wayne Bennett, age 71, a loving husband and brother, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Elizabethton, he was a son of the late Amos and Cassie Roberts Bennett. Mr. Bennett was retired from Mountain States Health Alliance. He was a member of Keystone Freewill Baptist Church and loved to dance the two-step and work in his yard and tending his flowers.Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Bennett, of the home; two step-daughters, Wendy Lambert and husband Woody and Tammy Walker and husband Chris, all of Bluff City, TN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Verlin Bennett, Nashville, TN; LeeRoy Bennett and Lester Bennett and wife Nancy, all of Elizabethton, TN; a sister, Pat Cooper and husband Bill, Elizabethton, TN and two aunts, Augusta Bennett and Shirley Bennett, both of Knoxville, TN. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.The family of Mr. Vestal Wayne Bennett will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Following the visitation a graveside service will be held in Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City, TN with Rev. Tony Birchfield officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Keystone Freewill Baptist Church, Building Fund, 110 Bettie Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
