Mrs. Tresia Scalf, age 60, of Johnson City, TN passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 following a long and courageous battle with cancer at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. A native of Washington County, TN she was the daughter of the late Foy and Ruth Alice Puckett Hensley. She had worked as a waitress and also as a truck driver for Ledford Transportation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Scalf and a son, Steven Scalf. Survivors include a son Jeffrey Scalf and wife Taina, of New York; three grandchildren, Kayla Scalf, Maria Scalf and Charli Lynn Scalf, all of New York; three sisters, Debbie Perry and husband Clarence, Elizabethton, TN, JoAnn Coontz, Junction City, KY and Judy Rogers, Athens, TN and a brother, Jessie Hensley, Athens, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mrs. Tresia Scalf will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2013 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Joseph Coontz officiating. Music will be under the direction of William, Barbara and Glenda Hammer and Phillip Coontz. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until 1:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the funeral service or at the residence at other times. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2013 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jaishankar Dezatiran and the staff of the Regional Cancer Center, Dr. Elizabeth Lawson, Dr. Holly Broadwater, Hector Alicea, Larry Horton, Harold Scalf, Bill Woodfin, Paul Darnell and Dr. Lambert. The family would like to express and special thank you to Mountain States Health Alliance and the hospice staff for their loving care of Mrs. Scalf.

I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person and friend. She will truly be missed. She was a dear friend to me when I lost my children. She took time to visit and set with me even though she had a lot on her at the time. She and her family will always be in my prayers.
