"View This Video Tribute"Mrs. Trecie Perkins Roe, 632 Shell Creek Road, Roan Mountain died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was born January 20, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Howard and Myrtle Whitehead Shell. Mrs. Roe was a homemaker and had worked at Levi Strauss and U.S. Textiles. She was an active member of Upper Shell Creek Christian Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four husbands, William “Buster” Perkins, Donald Blevins, James Frank Robinson and Charles Edward Roe and a sister, Beulah McKinney. Survivors include a son, Sterlin Perkins and wife Peggy, Roan Mountain; a daughter, Vivian Cordell and husband Kennie, Roan Mountain; three granddaughters, Katie Sluder and husband Harold “Speedy”, Nicole Holden and husband Brad and Colleen Shelton and husband Robbie, all of Roan Mountain; six great-grandsons, Cory, Tyler, Bret, Nick, Caleb and Luke and five great-granddaughters, Brook, Ashley, Hannah, Trista and Danielle; one great-great-granddaughter, Kloye Lyn; two step-granddaughters, Sarah and husband Jamie and Stephanie and one step-great-grandson, Xander. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral service for Mrs. Trecie Perkins Roe will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 30, 2010 in the Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain with Rev. Gary Perkins and Mr. Bedford Motley, minister officiating. Music will be under the direction of R. L. and Linda Jones of the Melody Trio. Interment will follow the funeral service in Perkins Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be great-grandsons and grandsons-in-law.   The family will receive friends at the Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain from Noon until 2:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the funeral service.  The family wishes to express a special thank you to Judy, Angie, Shelly, Julie and Barbara all of Hospice and also to a special friend, Khristina Cardwell for their love and care of Mrs. Roe.
