Travis Edward Birchfield

"View this Video Tribute" Mr. Travis Edward Birchfield, 38, 1234 Thomas Blvd., Elizabethton went home Monday, May 25, 2009. A native of Carter County, he was the son of Jim Birchfield, Elizabethton and Claudia Ledford and her husband Roger, Elizabethton. Mr. Birchfield was a 1989 graduate of Elizabethton High School where he played basketball, football and baseball. He was an auto salesman and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Birchfield was an avid golfer and loved animals, especially cats. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Reserve.     He was preceded in death by a sister, Casey Rae Birchfield in 1974; his step-mother, Lisa Birchfield; maternal grandparents, Tom and Betty Edens; paternal grandparents, Ellik and Bonnie Birchfield and an uncle, Cecil Birchfield.  Survivors in addition to his parents and step-father include his wife, Frances Malukiewicz Birchfield, of the home; a step-son, Cory Alexander Malukiewicz, of the home; a daughter, Reygan Grace Birchfield, of the home; seven aunts, Ruby, Shirley, Jeanette, Josephine, Judy, Joyce and Kathy; four uncles, L. J., Worley, Charlie and Stevie; two brothers-in-law, Walter and Steve; four sisters-in-law, Rose, Sharon, Michelle and Chrissy and his mother-in-law, Johanna Malukiewicz. Several nieces and nephews also survive.     Funeral service for Mr. Travis Edward Birchfield will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Seals officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday prior to the service or at his residence, 1234 Thomas Blvd, Elizabethton, the residence of his mother and step-father, Claudia and Roger Ledford, 219 South Main Street, Elizabethton or the residence of his father, Jim Birchfield, 424 East H Street, Elizabethton at other times.     Committal and entombment service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 29, 2009 in the Mausoleum of Peace of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Bowers, Tim Cochran, Robert Hickman, Tony Tickles, Don Whaley and Wesley Whaley. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Johns and Andy Wetzel. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.Read Obituary
