Travis Simerly

Travis Scott Simerly, age 49, of Elizabethton, TN let go of Kelly Simerly’s hand to take the hand of Jesus on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born January 20, 1975 to Gary and Jeanne Brumit Simerly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Marie Simerly and Jack and Jean Brumit; his son, Kristofer Simerly; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.Travis was a truck loader at Blue Waters Industry. He loved being with his family and enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, electronics, playing video games and working on cars. He was a member of Southside Christian Church.Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kelly Simerly, of the home ;parents, Gary and Jeanne Simerly, of Elizabethton, two daughters, Keirstin Simerly, of Elizabethton, and Danielle Plemons, of Bristol; one brother, Jeremy Simerly (Melanie); and nephew, Kellan Simerly, all of Greeneville.A memorial service to celebrate the life of Travis will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 7, 2024,in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Mike Koruschak officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 8, 2023 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend the graveside service should meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM.Active pallbearers will be Eric Morrison, Jackie Mathis, Randy “Spot” Carver, Jeremy Simerly, James William and Barry Mathis.
