Mr. Tommy R. Isaacs, age 71, of Watauga, TN passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Charles Weston and Emma Lou Phipps Isaacs. Mr. Isaacs was a business man. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran from 1960 to 1966 and was a communications operator during the Bay of Pigs Cuban Conflict. Mr. Isaacs was a Christian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Isaacs and a sister, Etta Sue Crank Harter. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Isaacs, of the home; two sons, Tommy Isaacs, II and his wife Allison, Watauga and Brian Isaacs, Watauga. Nieces, nephews and a special friend, Cathy Freeman, Newport, TN also survive. The committal and entombment service for Mr. Tommy R. Isaacs will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Mausoleum of Peace of Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Grubb officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 2:50 P.M. on Thursday. Friends may call at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 12:00 Noon until 4:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 or from 8:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013. The family would like to express a special thank you to the James H. Quillen V.A. nurses and to Mountain States Health Alliance Hospice for the loving care given during Mr. Isaac’s illness.
