Thomas Steward Sluder

Thomas Steward Sluder, age 82, of Bluff City, TN passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Newland, NC he was the son of the late Andrew and Flora Hurt Sluder. He was a member of Gateway Freewill Baptist Church and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Sluder. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Alma Sluder, of the home; two daughters, Rita Lorene Cox, Bristol, TN and Linda Sluder Gunter, Morganton, NC; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a nephew, Doyle Calhoun, Newland, NC and three nieces, Glenda Calhoun Yates, Newland, NC, Joyce Benfield Brewer, Newland, NC and Gina Benfield Barrier, Morganton, NC.Private disposition will be held in Newland, NC at a later date.Read Obituary
