Teresa S. Tressler, age 57, of Elizabethton, TN formerly of Oakwood, VA went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at her residence with her family surrounding her. Teresa was the daughter to the late Fred and Yahollo Short. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Her children and grandchildren was her world. She enjoyed attending church, reading her bible, working puzzles and painting. Coffee was always a must first thing every morning. She was a former employee of Alcoa International and a 1982 graduate of Garden High School. Teresa was a member of the Higher Ground Pentecostal Church of Johnson City, Tennessee.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Allen Short and two grandchildren, Nevaeh Miracle and Averie Yohallo Wright. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jessica LyAnn Wright, of Elizabethton, and Jenny Leigh Tressler and fiancé Peyton Simpson; two grandchildren, Paisleigh Simpson and Elias Simpson, of Elizabethton, TN; one brother, Fred A. Short, Jr. and wife Candy, of Elizabethton; one sister, Carol L. Short, of Elizabethton and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.The family would like to give a special thank you to Nurse Michelle with Amedisys, the Amedisys Team, Phyllis and Larry Winchester, Pastor Wayne Winchester and Brandi for all their loving care and support during this difficult time.The family will hold a service to celebrate the life of Teresa S. Tressler at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 7, 2022 in the Higher Ground Holiness Church, 246 Knob Creek Dock Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.Inurnment will be in the Meadows Cemetery in Oakwood, VirginiaOnline condolences may be shared with the family and viewed on our website at www.hathawaypercy.com. Teresa was a good friend when she lived here we went to school together ..spent weekends at each other's house..we both was there for each other good and bad times..my thoughts and prayers are with each of you..may God give you comfort and peace...God bless each of you .
