Scott Lynn Perry, age 53 passed away on Thursday, December 9th, 2021. He was a native of Carter County. Scott was a carpentry subcontractor and a jack of all trades. He was driven in all things he did and was a very goal oriented person. He enjoyed motorcycles & mechanics, especially his Harley. Scott was a member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Nell Huffman; son, Scotty Lynn Perry II; his maternal and paternal grandparents. Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Clarence Perry and step-mother, Debbie Perry; daughter, Allison Perry; two brothers, David Hoss and Michael Perry; three grandchildren, Austin, Kinnedy, and Jaxon; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.A graveside service to celebrate the life of Scott Lynn Perry will be conducted on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in the Jones Cemetery in the Chinquapin Grove Community. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:45 P.M. on Thursday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make any donations to the Perry family by calling Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.Online condolences may be shared and viewed with the family on our website at www.hathawaypercy.com. I'm so sorry. Thank u for all the wonderful things u did for him. I know u had a big job with him but so greatful that u loved him. U have been so good to David too. Thank you so much. I LOVED SCOTTY LYNN LIKE HE WAS REAL FAMILY not by marriage. God Bless U, take care it was so kind of u to respondto me I always thought u didn't like me. Lord where does a person start with Scott Perry he was quite a character coming up with some kind of story he had compassion with people like him He would help a person out in trouble. I couldn’t think of one bad thing to say about him. He truly is goin to be missed

Ill never forget when he started school & I taught him how to do his homework. He would start writing on the edge before the red line or holes for notebook. Plus he didn't write on the blue lines, just anywhere. I taught him how to do it right & he was so proud because his teachers bragged on how good he had gotten. That's my favorite memory. Hekinda felt like my little stepson I babysat for him. He was my little man. Fly High LOVE YOU💙

A special thank you to the minister at the service he really opened my eyes and heart it was a beautiful ceremony and all the people who came out for respect for Mr.Scotty Lynn Perry believe he would show up for any one of the people there Scott was a wonderful man and had his problems of course like the preacher said who doesn’t as the Bible tells us let who is without sin cast the first stone.Scotty Lynn loved everyone. Always thinking about other people. and a special thank to Jim and Marie Huffman for there generous contribution Scott always ask about Jim and Jim him as well he always ask about Scotty and kept up with him when Scotty became ill he frequently checked on Scotty and was like all just new he would be home soon.

I got to know Scott thru a close friend of mine he was the type of guy that would help a complete stranger out truly if a person was struggling he was there One of the best people I knew after I got to know him. I hate to hear this loss. I’m sure this is very painful for the family he loved those grandkids she would also tell me when he called he ask about them he never got to ever see the little one but I can see him now toting that little girl around he was a big man with a gentle heart and the oldest grandson was the light of his life he wanted to make a difference in his life and wanted best for them

You know there are so many memories of Scott Perry that I have and wish I could share all but the internet would go haywire but we had been good friends since like 6th grade. First thing is we both got our first paddling from Mr Greer àt Happy Valley Middle School because we fell asleep during a movie, then got in school suspension for laughing at another student because he had tied a string to her wig and was pulling it off her head (Mrs Banks class in HVMS). I do believe that was her name anyhow on to high school we went to of course achieving more mischievous endeavors.
I remember his blue hot rod though I think it was a Chevy Nova he pulled in my driveway and I looked at momma and said I'll make it there in time and Scott said oh yeah like in 5 minutes she said maybe so I just pray it's the game y'all get to first but like I said so many memories.
So I hope y'all enjoyed some of those as I have throughout years I'm sorry for everyone's loss and may God give y'all peace through this....
