Ruth N. Williams

Ruth N. Williams, age 97, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 18, 2020 from her residence. Ruth was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Leroy and Ruth Woods Norfolk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Williams; a brother, Leroy Norfolk; and a sister, Helena Berg.Ruth was retired as a secretary for the Chaplain’s office at Spring Grove Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for over 40 years. Ruth loved her family and she loved to read.Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Donna Boyd, of Arizona; two sons, Nial Williams and wife Pam and Bryan Williams and wife Noel, all of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Shandy Williams Thompson, husband Trey and two great grandsons Kasen and Paxton Thompson of Florida; and Kiah Williams of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Virginia Shultze, of Maryland; and a sister-in-law, Gerry Norfolk, of MarylandA committal and entombment service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Father Dennis Kress, officiating. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice for the love and care shown to Ruth during her illness.
