Ruth Ann Mills

Ruth Ann Mills, age 84, of Elizabethton, TN passed away after a brief illness at Franklin Woods Community Hospital on Sunday, July 31, 2022. Ruth was born in Olney, Maryland to the late Richard and Hester Howard. Ruth was the wife of the late William “Buck” Mills. Together they raised thirteen children and were gifted with many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren. She also enjoyed all her brothers and sisters and nephews and nieces. Ruth attended Zion Baptist Church and enjoyed every minute. Ruth loved spending time with people and considered everyone her family. Her hobbies included: word searches, playing poker, and playing Bingo. A service to honor the life of Ruth Ann Mills will be conducted at 1:15 P.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Alan King officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 12:30 PM and 1:15 PM prior to the service on Saturday. Eulogy will be given by Grandson, Matthew Grant. Interment will follow the funeral service on Saturday in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jacob Woodby, Dillon Woodby, Nathaniel Vance, Jimmy Presnell, Billy Woodby and John Payne. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Lyon’s Chapel Cemetery, 1258 Dry Creek Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
