Ronney G. Hamm, age 73, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was the son of the late Gilbert Daniel Hamm and Vickie Vines Hamm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Nidiffer. Ronney was a United States Air Force veteran having served as a Sergeant in the Vietnam War. He was a chemical operator for Eastman Chemical Company, retiring after thirty-three years of service.Ronney loved collecting cars. His pride and joy was his 1969 Plymouth Barracuda that he purchased in 1969 after his return home from Vietnam. He also enjoyed racing and loved spending time with his family, who were his world. He was of the Baptist faith.Those left to cherish his memories include his two daughters, Lesa McQueen and husband Steve, and Rhonda Malone and husband Craig, all of Elizabethton. He was a Popaw to his three grandchildren, Cody McQueen, Stevie McQueen, both of Elizabethton and Kasey Bishop and husband Jordan, of Gray; and one great-grandchild, Caylin McQueen, of Elizabethton. He is also survived by one brother, Lee Eugene Hamm, of Elizabethton; his best buddy and nephew, Stevie Hamm, of Elizabethton; and several nieces.A graveside service to honor the life of Ronney G. Hamm will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, January 15, 2021 in the Devotion Garden at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Reverend Estel Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.The family will receive friends at 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the graveside service at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services on Friday, January 15th.Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedysis Home Health including, Dina, Mallorie, Keith, Kelli and Amy for all their loving care and support.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens who live in or visit the counties wear masks in public.
