Ronel Dean “Butch” Driscoll Sr., 64, of Chuckey, TN died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was the son of Della Lee Driscoll, of Chuckey, TN and the late Robert Newman Driscoll. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the 2nd Infantry of the 7th Calvary during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Driscoll loved football and was a Washington Redskins fan. Survivors in addition to his mother, include two daughters, Nicole Driscoll Alexander and her husband Michael and Elizabeth Driscoll, all of Front Royal, VA; a son, Deano Driscoll, of the home; five grandchildren, Seth Barbee, Preston Barbee, Austin Lang, Brittany Lang and Christopher Lang; three brothers, Marion Woodby and his wife Jean Ann, Martinsburg, WV, Terry Woodby and Darris Woodby and his wife Ivy, all of Elizabethton; three sisters, Eva Tipton and her husband Jim, Limestone, TN, Darla Ripley and her husband Robert, York, PA and Teresa Balderas, Chuckey, TN; a special aunt, Gladys Norton, Elizabethton and aunts, Dorothy Moore, Johnson City and Bernice Powers, Elizabethton and an uncle, Howard Driscoll, Falls Church, VA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Ronel Dean “Butch” Driscoll Sr. will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 22, 2011 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Allen King officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until Noon on Saturday prior to the funeral service or at the residence of a brother and sister-in-law, Darris and Ivy Woodby, 297 Sneed Hill Road, Elizabethton at other times. Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service on Saturday in Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Deano Driscoll, Mark Woodby, Steven Woodby, David Hilbert, Lee Woodby, Kelly Williams, Jim Tipton and Marion Woodby.
