Robin Gwyn-Bowers, age 55, of Roan Mountain, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 04, 2020 following a brief illness. Robin was born in Avery County, North Carolina to Linda Eller Gwyn and the late Roy Gwyn. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hayden and Clara Eller; and her paternal grandparents, Mammaw and Papaw Gwyn.Robin was an exceptionally loving and amazing wife, she loved hard and with her whole heart. She was loving, caring and stern and amazingly saw every move her step children made before they made it. She could read people like a book. Robin was of the Christian faith and when she was able, she attended Heaton Creek Christian Church. She was a homemaker and wonderful housewife who was a UNC basketball fan, enjoyed gardening, playing and spending time with her grandbabies, reading, canning, putting food away from her garden harvest and enjoyed the sunshine.Those left to cherish her many wonderful memories in addition to her mother, Linda Eller Jones, include her husband of 17 years, James Bowers, of the home; her step children, Eric Stump, Zachery Cook, Amanda Capps (Joshua), and Holly Bowers (Chad Holtzclaw); her brothers and sister, Derrick Gwyn, Roger Gwyn, Durryl Jones, Jr. and Denise Jones; her step grandchildren, Kaiden and Ethan Stump, Meloney, Stephaney and Rhianna Capps, Gabrielle and Cordelia Holtzclaw and Mylan Cook; and a special nephew, Little Roger and family. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.The family will have a visitation from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel in Roan Mountain, Tennessee.The family would like to especially thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Johnson City Medical Center for their support of the family as well as her mother-in-law, Deloris Shelton, for her love and support.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens who live in or visit Carter County wear masks in public. In keeping in accordance with this mandate, all visitors to the open visitation are required to wear a mask or facial covering.
