Robert D. Stills, Sr.

Mr. Robert D. Stills, Sr., age 64 of Hampton, TN passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. A native of Jonesborough, TN he was the son of the late Ottis and Irene Johnson Stills. Mr. Stills retired from the Aurora Hardwood Casket Company as a sander. He loved to raise goats and garden.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Keith Stills; a grandson, Richard Stills; his mother-in-law, Joan Nidiffer and a brother, Gene Stills. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Elaine Stills, of the home; daughters, Tammy Skeans and husband Tim, Elizabethton; Michelle Grubbs and husband Nathaniel and Julie Bailey and husband Heath, all of Unicoi; sons, Robbie Stills, Elizabethton and David Stills and wife Kristi, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Dylan Nelson, Alexus Grubbs, Haley “Homer” Grubbs, Dakota Carter, Michael Carter, Whitney Miller, Kelsey Stills, Lynsey Stills, Anthony Owens, Scott Stills, Dayton Stills and a special granddaughter, Olivia Tester; great-grandchildren, Thomas Mills and two unborn; his father-in-law, Roy J. Nidiffer, of the home; two brothers, Roy Stills and wife Hope, Kingsport and Sammy Stills and Andy, KY; a sister, Mary Chesser, Jonesborough and special friends, Bob and Connie Winters. Several nieces and nephews also survive.A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Robert D. Stills, Sr. will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the Little Doe Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Waters officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. prior to the memorial service.The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the I.C.U. at Sycamore Shoals Hospital especially Jeremy Adkins and to the Carter County Rescue Squad.Read Obituary
