Rita June Jones

Rita June Jones, age 79, of Johnson City, TN passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Hermitage Health Care Center, Elizabethton following a brief illness. A native of Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Williams Sr. and Betsy Snodgrass Williams. Mrs. Jones retired as a U.S. Rural Route Postal Carrier. She and her late husband loved boating and had a houseboat at Lake Shore Marina. She was of the Christian faith.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, James Maynard Jones. Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Doug Jones and wife Tresa, Johnson City; a daughter, Karen Reeves and husband Donald, Johnson City; grandchildren, Ethan Jones and Kayla Jones; both of Johnson City; great-grandchild, Haven Zaylee Jones, Johnson City and three brothers, Harold Williams, Sid Williams, both of Johnson City and Monroe Williams Jr., Jonesborough. Several nieces and nephews also survive.A private graveside service for Mrs. Rita June Jones was held in Roselawn Memory Gardens.The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Hermitage Health Care Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Jones.
