Richard Terry Wishon

Richard Terry Wishon, age 61, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at his residence. A native of Johnson City, TN he was the son of the late Henry Clay and Doris Evelyn Sluss Wishon. Mr. Wishon retired as a painter. He volunteered at God’s Corner Ministry in Johnson City. He enjoyed watching sports and western television shows and working in his yard.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kandi Wishon in 2016 and a brother, Johnny Clay Wishon. Those left to cherish his memory include a brother, Ralph Eddie Wishon and wife Nancy, Nashville, TN; three sisters, Sue Hardin and Jo Ann Peters and husband William (Pete), all of Elizabethton and Doris Harvey and her boyfriend, Larry Johnson, Johnson City; nieces and nephews, Crystal Hawkins, Cara Dean, Casey Harvey, Sylvia Johnson, Tammy Peters, Junior Wishon and Jonathan Wishon and a daughter, Terry Lynn. Special friends at God’s Corner Ministry and Leonard and Ruth, Greg Janzz and Bobby also survive.A graveside service to honor the life of Richard Terry Wishon will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Monte Vista Memorial Park with Pastor Larry Chance officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 P.M. on Thursday. Friends may call at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, 101 East F Street, Elizabethton, TN on Thursday from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service to sign the guest book.Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the funeral home to help the family with final expenses.Read Obituary
