Polly Morgan Hutchins

Mrs. Polly Morgan Hutchins, age 89, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the Hermitage Health Center. A native of Carter County in the Shell Creek community she was the daughter of the late Charles McKinley Morgan and Brucie Wardell Morgan. Mrs. Hutchins retired from Administration at the Great Lakes Research Corporation and also worked at Beaunit Industries. She was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton. She helped to compile the Carter County History Book.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hutchins; a step-daughter, Brenda Hutchins Richardson; a step-daughter-in-law, Sherry Hutchins; two brothers and their wives, Frank Morgan and Nelly Morgan and Edward Morgan and Blanche Morgan and a sister, Margaret Morgan. Survivors include a niece, Judy Gardner and husband Acie, Banner Elk, NC; a nephew, Donnie Morgan and wife Edna, Roan Mountain, TN; a step-niece, Jerri Nation; several great-nieces and great-nephews and special cousins; two step-sons, Randall Hutchins and wife Carol and Farrell Hutchins, all of Elizabethton. Seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Polly Morgan Hutchins will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Gerald Holly and Dr. Don Marshall, ministers officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Van Dyke. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday prior to the graveside service.Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donation to the Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, 8726 Highway 19E, Roan Mountain, TN 37687.Read Obituary
