Our father, grandfather, partner and friend, Phillip Kyle Holden Sr., 71, of Johnson City, TN departed this life Monday, February 22, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kyle was an avid Washington Redskins and Joe Gibbs Nascar fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and lived life to the fullest. He especially enjoyed his many cruises, his Harley and Corvette. Kyle owned his own drywall business in Northern Virginia for over twenty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.            Kyle was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lucy Snodgrass Holden and his two brothers, Charles Holden and Dwayne Holden. Survivors include his four children, Phillip Kyle Holden Jr., Johnson City, TN; Vickie Laperle and her husband Brian, Stafford, VA; Alan Holden and his wife Klum, Foley, AL and Carol Mullins and her husband Orville, Stafford, VA; his companion and partner, Laurie Hayes, Johnson City, TN. Eleven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson due to arrive in August also survive.            Funeral service for Phillip Kyle Holden Sr. will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. C.W. Snodgrass officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #49.             The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, February 26, 2010 or at the residence at other times.
