Parrot "Pudge" Combs

Mr. Parrot “Pudge” Combs, age 74, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Pine Ridge Care Center. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Cracker and Sarah Greene Combs. Mr. Combs was a farmer and he was a member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Gail Oliver Combs, a sister, Edna Fenner and six brothers, Ray Combs, Frank Combs, Ike Combs, Jakey Combs, Billy E. Combs and Clyde Combs. Survivors include special nieces, Jennifer Treadway and her children Ashley and Dustin and Mary Taylor and her husband James, all of Elizabethton; two nephews, Ray Combs and his children Ray Ray and Amber and Billy Combs and his wife Nicole and their children. A special friend, Tim Treadway and a beloved cat, Tom also survive. A service to celebrate the life of Parrot “Pudge” Combs will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, July 5, 2014 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Steve Burleson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service.
