Mrs. Mosella Calloway, of Elizabethton died Monday, January 2, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. A native of Clinton, Indiana she was the daughter of the late David Fred and Laura Jane Hinkle Pierce. Mrs. Calloway was the former owner of Happy Valley Beauty Salon. She was a past president of the Hairdresser’s Association and was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Calloway attended Watauga Point United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Calloway and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Sue Hyder and husband Ray, Johnson City; a son, Dallas “Butch” Calloway and wife Lou, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Patrick Hyder and wife Kim, Tim Hyder, Alecia Hyder and husband Jeff, Chris Hyder and wife Beth, Kristy Wagner and husband Trafton and Jennie Bean and husband Micah; Fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Nora Lee Rose, Johnson City; two special nieces, Sue Waycaster , Florida and Mosella Whittington, Elizabethton and a special nephew, Jerry Pierce, Florida. Several additional nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mrs. Mosella Calloway will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Dr. Mike Pinner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday prior to the funeral service or at Mrs. Calloway’s residence at other times. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 5, 2012 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Pat Hyder, Tim Hyder, Jeff Hyder, Chris Hyder, Micah Bean, Trafton Wagner, Josh Hyder, Caleb Hyder and Franky Casteel. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Pierce, Dana Dykes, Jerry Pierce, Harold Carver, Bill Waycaster, Stanley Whittington and Dr. Merrick. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
