Mary Donna Watson Simerly Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Donna Watson Simerly, age 51, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away at the Holston Valley Medical Center on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Mary was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late James Ray and Nellie Ruth Moretz Watson. In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by James (Roberta) Watson and Johnny Watson. Mary was a good mother and a great GiGi – she loved her grandchildren tremendously. She was a strong willed lady and worked as an LPN at NHC Healthcare for many years. Mary enjoyed shopping, fishing, getting dressed up and collecting antiques. Those left to cherish Mary’s memory include the father of her children, Timothy Simerly; her daughters, Donna Marie (Garason) Barnes and their son Grayson Allen Barnes and Kayla Danielle Wishon (Bradley Hunter) and their children, Hunter Landon Wishon, Ellie Danielle Wishon and Elias Timothy Wishon; her nieces, Tammy Long and her children, Landon Long, Hunter Long and Ava Watson and Misty (Johnny) Manus and their children, Brittany Hope, Kimberly Hope and Jake Manus. It was Mary’s wishes to be cremated and no formal services are currently scheduled. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643 in memory of Mary. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, staff and doctors of the Holston Valley Medical Center, to Valley Forge House of Prayer and to all their family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.
