"View This Video Tribute" Mrs. Margaret L. “Barkie” Snodgrass, 81, of Elizabethton went to heaven to be with her Lord and late husband, Jack Donald Snodgrass Wednesday, March 3, 2010 following an unexpected illness.  A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Stephen and Robbie Jewell Edwards Dunlap. “Barkie” loved spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired from Raytheon following thirty-five years of service. Mrs. Snodgrass was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton.  In addition to her parents and her husband who died November 4, 1953, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Faye Dunlap and Linda Garland and two brothers, Robert “Bob” Dunlap and Edward Dunlap. Survivors include her daughter, Martha White and husband Gary, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Michael White, Johnson City; Brian White and wife Beth, Roswell, GA and Julie White, Elizabethton; three great-grandchildren, Jackson White, Johnson City and Garrett White and Lucy White, both of Roswell, GA; one sister, Ruth Davenport and husband Herb, Elizabethton; one brother, Steve Dunlap and wife Linda, Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Jean Dunlap, Elizabethton and special friends, Marydon Carrier, Loetta Cornette, Ruth and Jim Reed and Reba Peters. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  Funeral service for Mrs. Margaret L. “Barkie” Snodgrass will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 7, 2010 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Brent Nidiffer and Dr. Don Marshall, ministers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the funeral service or at the residence of her daughter, Martha White, 2301 Eagle Drive, Elizabethton at other times.  Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service on Sunday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from grandsons and nephews.  Memorials in lieu of flowers to those who desire may be made to Susan G.
