Mrs. Lois V. Grindstaff, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. She was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Clarence Preston and Lula Beatrice Morris Carrico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Paul Grindstaff and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Grindstaff was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and was a retired seamstress with Denise Lingerie. She was a member of Elizabethton Senior Citizens.Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward E. and Robin Grindstaff and Timothy P. and Stephanie Grindstaff, all of Elizabethton; one daughter, Emma Lou Grindstaff, of Elizabethton; eight grandchildren one great-grandson; three brothers, Preston Carrico, Allen Carrico and Howell Wayne Carrico, all of Elizabethton; four sisters, Frenchie Russell, Annie Guinn, Nancy Carrico and Monice Lunceford , all of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral service for Mrs. Lois V. Grindstaff will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 14, 2009 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Mr. David Siebenaler, Minister officiating.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday in the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of a son, Edward E. Grindstaff.Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in the Grindstaff Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Carrico, Allen Carrico, Howell Carrico, Tim Hardin and Rocket Richardson. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
