"View This Video Tribute"Lesley E. Holden, age 90, of Elizabethton passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Lola Davis Holden. He was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Holden was a retired employee of TVA. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in England and Germany during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Viola Holden, a son, Lesley Bruce Holden, three brothers, Emory, Paul and Lester Holden, two sisters, Grace Persinger and Mae Dempsey.  Survivors include a daughter, Betty Taylor and husband, Phil, Atlanta, GA, two grandson, Danny Holden and wife, Kim, Elizabethton, Mark Taylor and wife, Lisa, Huntsville, AL, a granddaughter, Leslie Caldwell, and husband, Dave, Hampton, four great grandchildren, David Caldwell, Christian Taylor, Sarah Taylor, and Addison Holden, a twin brother, Wesley J. Holden, Independence, MO. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends, Shirley Lunceford and his faithful and loving caregivers, Sue Fetterolf, Melissa Sheets and Judy Bouillon. The funeral service for Mr. Holden will be conducted at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 26th, 2011 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral Home, with Rev. John Perkins officiating. Music will be under the direction of The Harvey Family. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, from Noon until 2 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park.   Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #49. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the home based primary care of James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital, and his twin brother, Wesley J. Holden and his sons, Rick and Wes Holden. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Lesley E. Holden, to Happy Valley Baptist Church, 2118-A Forsyth Dr., Elizabethton, TN 37643.

I'm sorry to read of your loss. It doesn't seem to matter if the person is older, that just makes you feel he should always be there.So right now he's away in sleep but his chrished memories you can keep.
