Mrs. Leona Fineout Knapp, 83, of 611 McClellan Circle, Elizabethton went to be with her Lord Jesus and her family Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Curwinsville, PA she was the daughter of late Edwin Lloyd and Esther Louise Gates Fineout and was a member of the First Christian Church in Elizabethton, TN. She was a ministers wife for sixty years, member of the Retired Teachers Association, member of the Roan Mountain Garden Club, The Republican Party. She taught piano and was a pianist for thirteen and a half years at the Doe River Baptist Church.          In addition to her parents Mrs. Knapp was also preceded in death by two brothers John Fineout and James Fineout.        Mrs. Knapp is survived by her husband M. Paul Knapp of the home; daughter Deborah Starr Knapp of New York, NY; son David Paul Knapp (Marjorie) of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren Ericka Nicole Knapp Hale (Brad), Braden Alexander Knapp and Deborah Anne Knapp all of Kingsport, TN; three great grandchildren Colin Davidson, Danika Davidson and Emilia Davidson; nephews John Fineout (Angela) of Coppell, TX; nieces Ellen Overholt (Wayne) of Gilbert, AZ and Saralyn (Troy) Burnett of Cotton Center, TX ; Great nieces Ashton and Aubrey Fineout, Coppell, TX., Sisters-in-laws Virginia Fineout of Hasting, TX and Nelle Fineout of Plano, TX.      Visitation for Mrs. Knapp will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Hathaway Percy Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM friends may also call at the residence. Entombment service for Mrs. Knapp will be conducted at 2:30 PM Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Happy Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum of Peace with Mr. Brent Nidiffer, Minister officiating. Active pallbearers will be members of the First Christian Church and honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Class at the First Christian Church.        Those who prefer may send memorials in lieu of flowers to First Christian Church of Elizabethton Missionary Fund, 513 Hattie St., Elizabethton, TN 37643.      Online condolences may be sent to the family and viewed by visiting our website at www.hathawaypercy.com.
