OBITUARY FOR KENNY RAY SHOOK Kenny Ray Shook, age 51, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was the son of the late Winford Wilson and Clara Kathleen Jones Shook. Kenny loved to attend Nascar races at Bristol Motor Speedway and enjoyed listening to music by Ralph Stanley and Elvis Presley. Kenny loved to go to church and spend time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing games on his Xbox. Kenny was a member of First Baptist Church, of Church Hill, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncles, Edward Jones, George Jones, Willie Jones and Gurney Jones; two aunts, Vertie Taylor and Eula Carver; a nephew, Jesse Deloach. Those left to cherish his memories are his two sisters, Bonnie Tunnell, of Gray and Janet Shook, of Elizabethton; a brother, Alvin Shook, of Elizabethton and several nieces and nephews also survive. A service to celebrate the life of Kenny Ray Shook will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. Eulogy will be by Mrs. Bonnie Tunnell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between the hours of 11:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. prior to the service. Committal and entombment will be held following the service on Saturday in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be David Dingus, Doug Bowser, Stephan Oakley, Johnny Lawson, Robert Joyner and Josh Ledford. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Luttrell.
