Katie Renee Tilson

Katie Renee Tilson, age 13, of Elizabethton TN, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. She is the daughter of Gary Edward Tilson of Johnson City and Kimberly Dawn Carrier of Elizabethton. She attended T.A. Dugger Jr High School where she was a member of the 2020 graduating class and was a member of the chorus club. Katie also had a passion for singing. Katie is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Mike Gortney, and maternal grandmother, Brenda Carrier. In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memories include her sister, Macie Cline of Johnson City; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Monette Tilson of Jefferson City, Bea Gortney of Johnson City; maternal grandfather, Ronnie Carrier of Elizabethton; paternal great-grandmother, June Tilson of Johnson City; a special niece, Paisley Pratt; a special aunts,Rhonda Bowers and Andi Carrier of Elizabethton; her favorite fur baby “Sammie” and special best friend's, Nevaeh Hodges of Elizabethton, "Vick" and Steveanna Wyrick of Springfield Missouri, and the lunch bunch from T.A. Dugger.Friends may come by Hathaway Percy Funeral and Cremation Services on Sunday, July 5, 2020 between the hours of 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM to pay their respect and sign the guest book. A graveside service to honor the life of Katie Renee Tilson will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Garland Cemetery with Pastor Joel Kirk officiating. Active pallbearers will be Vaughn Carrier, Austin Fagan, Andrew Fagan, Caleb Richardson, Terry Seay, and Josh DePriest. Honorary pallbearers will be Coach Fox, Travis Smithdeal, Daryl Sliger, Joe Carrier, Justin White, T.A. Dugger Jr. High School 8th Grade Graduating Classmates of 2020, and the faculty and staff of T.A. Dugger Jr. High School. Everyone will meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremations Services at 9:15 AM on Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.Read Obituary
