John B. Nelson

John B. Nelson, age 57, of Elizabethton, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019. He was a son of the late Carl E. Nelson, Sr. and Joyce Estep Nelson and was born in Dayton, OH on July 9, 1962. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister. John loved being outdoors, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his nephew and nieces. Those left to cherish his memory include a brother, Carl E. Nelson, Jr. of Midland, TX and his daughter, Carla Gentis (Dan) and their children, Rowan and Declan all of Okinawa, Japan; a sister, Lori Battson and her husband Todd of Piqua, OH and their five children, Zane Grieselhuber (Brandy) and their children, Zane Jr., Tristan and Rylei, all of Piqua, OH; Raini Highley (Greg) of Piqua, OH; Lillie Battson of Piqua, OH; Ty Battson and his daughter, Trinity of Piqua, OH; and Kayla Battson of Piqua, OH. The family would like to thank John’s neighbors, Alice Peters, Will Sexton and Ryan Sexton for the friendship that they had with him. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. There are no services planned at this time.
