II Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” John Hambrick, 81, formerly of Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He was a Carter County native and resided in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Clyde and Cora Belle Hambrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Jo Martin, Norma Love Debinto and Helen Ruth Hambrick and one nephew, Wesley Dale Hambrick. He was a mechanic for many years working for local companies such as Ford Motor Company, Tennessee Motor Company and retired from Snap-On Tools. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Beulah Jean Blevins Hambrick; four daughters, Susan Pope and husband Rick, Johnson City; Vanessa Holsclaw and husband Jeff, Elizabethton; Debbie Harrison and husband Sam, Elizabethton and Kim Johnson and husband Jerry, Johnson City; his pride and joy; grandchildren, Josh Reifert and wife Melissa, Kingsport; Summer Mosley and husband Christopher, Johnson City; Jon Harrison and wife Tabitha, Elizabethton; Jordy Harrison, Elizabethton; Matthew Scott, Elizabethton and Madison Johnson, Johnson City; his very special great-grandchildren, Callie and Millie Mosley; Ava and Joel Harrison and Tristen Scott; his brothers, Jack Hambrick and wife Alice, Lenoir, NC; Mack Hambrick, Elizabethton; Eddie Hambrick and wife Claudette, Johnson City; Howard Hambrick and wife Shirley, Jonesborough; Kenneth Hambrick and the late Joann Hambrick, Johnson City and Clyde “Jr.” Hambrick and wife Carolyn, Elizabethton. Special friends and so many memories with Bruce Hill and wife Pauline and the late Garner Williams and wife Arglie, Johnson City. John took pride in his beautiful flower gardens, working on any type of engine and playing guitars with his sons-in-law and grandsons. He was a quite man with a boyish, mischievous nature who enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, August 25, 2012 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Jon Harrison and Rev. Louie Blevins officiating. Music will be under the direction of Alicia and Drew Parsons. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memory Gardens, Johnson City. There will be no formal visitation. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Josh, Jon, Jordy, Matthew and Christopher and special friends, David Hart and Timothy Whaley and cousin, Timmy Martin. Honorary pallbearers are the Hambrick brothers, the Blevins family and Gary Hambrick. The family would like to express their thankfulness to the staff at Ivy Hall Nursing Home and special thanks to Judy Deloach, Lisa Jones, Tisa Grimmett for their special care given to our father, grandfather and great-grandfather and to Johnson City Internal Medicine, Dr. Paul Brown and his special nurse, Christy Perkinson.
