Mrs. Janice M. Sartain, age 71, of Johnson City, TN passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, TN she was the daughter of the late Ray Thomas and Mary Ann Fair Taylor. Mrs. Sartain was a retired inspector at Siemens. She was a member of Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John David Sartain and one sister, Maxine Taylor. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Sartain and Pamela Sartain, both of Johnson City, TN; a brother, Lloyd Thomas Taylor and wife Darlene, Elizabethton, TN; a sister, Dean Hill and husband Ernest, Johnson City, TN and a special friend, Henry Britt, Johnson City, TN. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mrs. Janice M. Sartain will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 29, 2013 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday prior to the service or at the residence at any time. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nursing staff of the 5300 wing of the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital for their loving care of Mrs. Sartain. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
