James “Jamie” Kevin Presnell, age 42, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He was a son of Edna McGhee Campbell and the late Steve Phillip Presnell. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jessica McCool; maternal grandmother, Kate Hampton and paternal grandparents, John and Bertha Presnell. Jamie was a plumber and of the Baptist faith.Those left to cherish his memory include his mother and stepfather, Edna and Ralph Campbell of Elizabethton; a daughter, Kadence Breanne Presnell of Elizabethton; his girlfriend, Christy Carter; a half-brother, Steve Presnell Jr.; and a half-sister, Crystal Greenwell. Jamie is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.A service to honor the life of James “Jamie” Kevin Presnell will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Mack Presnell and Pastor Dean Presnell officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Harold Presnell and Mr. Michael Presnell. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, prior to the funeral in the chapel or at the residence of his mother and step-father, 208 S. Lynn Avenue, Elizabethton, TN at other times.The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 26, 2018 in the Markland Cemetery in Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Billy Presnell, Robert Presnell, John Berry, Dustin Hurley, John Frazier and Jimmy Ritchie. Devin Krippendorf will serve as honorary pallbearer. Everyone will meet at Hathaway Percy Funeral & Cremation Services at 12:45 PM on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.Read Obituary

Ive known Jamie since we were 8 years old. Almost every childhood memory i have involves him in some way. Weve helped each other thru some of the most difficult times in each others lives. I can't believe this is the way it all ends. Rest easy Jamie....ill never forget you brother.
We had lots of long nights together just talking and being affectionate and music. James kept me up to par with the best music ,all the hip- in -artist and love music , there are so many songs that will warm me up and remind me of you , James Presnell I will always love you 💚Love ,Christy ...
jamie was a kind and good person, he always spoke and treated you as if he seen you everyday . I was good friends with his sister and it is heart breaking to hear of his passing, god bless his family at this time.
