“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give your rest.” Matthew 11:28 Mrs. Isabell Puckett, age 88, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Pluma Bare Fagan. She was a nurturing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who made it her life’s mission to care for others. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening and being with her family. Mrs. Puckett attended West Side Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Clyde Andrew Puckett; two sisters, Helen Kiser and Margaret Rumley and five brothers, Pedro Fagan, Johnny Fagan, George Fagan, Tommy Fagan and Jim Fagan. Survivors include four daughters, Nancy Stout and husband Ron, Elizabethton; Robbin Gibson, Elizabethton; Liz Puckett, of the home and Debbie Weaver and husband Steve, Johnson City; grandchildren, Daniel Stout, Sharon Gaynor, Tiffany Scalf, Sheila Carver, Kim Gibson, Doug Gibson, Jake Weaver, Jacqueline Campbell and Jeffery Fields; great-grandchildren, Hunter Moody, Colby Blevins, Zackary Gaynor, Korey Gaynor, Kayla Gaynor, Hayden Gibson and Mason Gibson and a brother, Robert Harlow Fagan, of Illinois. The funeral service for Isabell Puckett will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Greg Key, minister officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 – 7:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the funeral service or at the residence at other times. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 30, 2014 in the George Mottern Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Steve Weaver, Jake Weaver, Daniel Stout, Doug Gibson, Teddy Malone, Jeffrey Fields and Ronnie Moody. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 P.M. on Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to Mountain State Hospice’s nurses and staff, especially Greg and Diane, for their compassion, assistance and support which made an immeasurable difference during this time.
