Mrs. Helen Ann Shipley, age 78, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Walker Bowman. Mrs. Shipley retired as a shipping clerk from North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of the Kingsport Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jack Shipley. Survivors include a son, David Ellis, Elizabethton; a daughter, Connie Ellis Graham and her husband Shields, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Lilly Ellis and Joey Graham and his wife Halee all of Elizabethton and Brittani Graham, Bristol, TN and one great-grandson, Caiden Graham, Elizabethton.Graveside service for Mrs. Helen Ann Shipley will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Monday, July 21, 2014 in Mountain Home National Cemetery with Chaplain Adam Page officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:20 P.M. on Monday. The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter Connie Ellis Graham, 147 Old Lacy Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 20, 2014.Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
