Helen W. Parris, age 90, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A lifetime resident of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Donnelly and Lucy Glover Williams. Helen was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and Knoxville Business College and was a retired employee of the Carter County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lt. Robert G. Williams and William Joseph Williams. Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Gail Loranger and husband Bill, Scottsdale, AZ; two sons, Roger Williams Parris and wife Joyce, Unicoi, TN and David Rex Parris and wife Cathy, Johnson City, TN; five grandchildren, Abraham Rubal, Arizona, Stephanie Parris Piraino, California, Glenda Michelle Mauk, Kingsport, TN, Rachel Tremmier and husband Brad, Johns Creek, GA and Christie Parris and husband Kirk Stephens, Atlanta, GA and a sister, Bonnitt Brummitt, Elizabethton. Several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service for Helen W. Parris will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 2, 2012 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services will Mr. Brent Nidiffer, minister officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Gene Estep, organist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-3:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the memorial service.
