"View This Video Tribute" Glenn Huffman, Jr., age 82, of 135 Cooter Lane, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. A native of Sullivan County, he was a son of the late Glenn Huffman, Sr. and Leona Jones Huffman. Mr. Huffman had worked the majority of his life in the construction industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in WWII, and was a member of Watauga First Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Cook Huffman; two daughters, Rachel Penley and Pamela Huffman; a son, Ronnie Huffman; and three brothers, Don, Glenn W. and Howell Huffman. He is survived by a son, Bobby Huffman and his wife, Kathy, who was a very special caregiver to Glenn, of the home; six daughters, Peggy Doss, Jonesborough, Evelyn Malone, Bluff City, Arlene Huffman, Greeneville, Patricia Huffman, Afton, TN, Penny Knight and husband, Bobby, Greeneville, and Loretta Huffman, Chuckey; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; six sisters, Jane Clark, Shirley Carr and husband, Herb, and Mary Huffman, all of Bluff City, Jewell Fox, Elizabethton, Polly Leonard and Maude Bowers and husband, Andy, all of Bristol, TN; a brother, Jimmy Huffman and wife, Kathy, Hampton; and special friends, Robby Crawford, Mary Bell Cogburn, and Roy Dale Moody. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  The funeral service for Glenn Huffman, Jr. will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 29, 2010 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Art Webb and Rev. Josh Gladson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the service in the funeral home chapel or at the residence of his son, Bobby Huffman, 135 Cooter Lane, Elizabethton, other times.  The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 in the Jones Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. to travel in procession to the cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #49 of Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Kelly Rains, Cody Carter, William Reeves, Lucas Knight, John Morgan, and Jason Peeks. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Moody, Jeffrey and Rudy Cogburn, and Steve Rains.
