Gladys E. Slagle

Mrs. Gladys E. Slagle, age 98, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her residence. A native of Carter County, TN she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Lula Lyons Richards. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and Steed College and retired as an owner/operator of an Antique Store. Mrs. Slagle attended Biltmore Baptist Church. She loved to collect antiques.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer W. Slagle; a granddaughter, Jada Hope Slagle and a brother, Thurman J. Richards. Survivors include a son, Richard W. Slagle, of the home; a daughter, Judy Jones and husband Jack, Los Lunas, NM and two grandchildren, Shannon and Libby.A service to honor the life of Mrs. Gladys E. Slagle will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Raymond Amos, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park.Read Obituary
