Fred Shouse, Jr.

"View This Video Tribute"  Fred Shouse, Jr. age 63, 115 Independence Ave., Elizabethton passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009.  He was a Carter County native and a son of the late Fred Shouse Sr. and Florence Bullock Shouse.  Mr. Shouse was of the Baptist faith and was a retired maintenance supervisor.  He was a loving husband, father, and papaw who considered his grandchildren the light of his life.  Mr. Shouse was an animal lover and enjoyed riding his Harley.  He was a 1964 graduate of Elizabethton High School.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Beverly Shouse.  Mr. Shouse is survived by his wife of almost forty-three years Janey Peters Shouse, one daughter and son-in-law:  Nikki and Allan Foster, Erwin, grandchildren: Chloe and Abby Foster and sister: Agnes Shouse Grindstaff.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.      The funeral service for Mr. Shouse will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5th at the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Trivette officiating.  Music will be under the direction of Allan Foster and Edwin Taylor.  Interment will follow in the Slagle Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be Mike Taylor, Ken Arney, Jerry Harper, Christopher Peters, Charles Peters, Allan Foster and Brandon Arney.  Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Owens and Herman Hill.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday in the chapel prior to the service.  Friends may also call at the residence at other times.  Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter, 253 Sycamore Shoals Rd., Elizabethton, TN  37643.Read Obituary
