Frankie Jeanette Humphreys Murphy

Mrs. Frankie Jeanette Humphreys Murphy, 85, Central Community, Johnson City, TN died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. A native of Carter County, TN she was the daughter of the late George Frank and Jeanette Simmons Humphreys. Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. She was a former bookkeeper with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Louisville, KY and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Central Church of Christ.            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry William Adkins; her husbands, Herve Murphy, Eugene Adkins and Harry Patton and four brothers, William Taylor Humphreys, George Wayne Humphreys, Gordon Thomas Humphreys and James Lee Humphreys. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Adkins Ramsey, Johnson City; a granddaughter, Courtney Ramsey Trujillo, California; two grandsons, Philip Adkins, Unicoi, TN and Paul Adkins, Louisville, KY. Six great-grandchildren also survive.            Funeral service for Mrs. Frankie Jeanette Humphreys Murphy will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 24, 2010 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Todd Wolfe, minister officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the funeral service. A private inurnment service will be conducted at a later date.            To those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Community Volunteer Fire Department, 215 Hopson Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.Read Obituary
