Ernest F. Hill

Mr. Ernest F. Hill, age 83, of Johnson City, TN passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Nathaniel and Nell Powell Hill. Mr. Hill retired as a salesman from Lowe’s. He was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Hill and Lonnie Hill. Survivors include his wife, Dean Hill, of the home; two sons, Eddie F. Hill, Johnson City and Michael D. Hill and his wife Denise, Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren, Mark Hill, Stephanie Hill, Julie Painter and Sara Hill; six great-grandchildren, Anna Hill; Emma Hill, Morgan Painter, Jordan Painter, Anthony Miranda and Michael Miranda; a brother, Bruce Hill, Elizabethton and two sisters, Christine Lacey, Greeneville, TN and Helen Harrington, of Pennsylvania. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A service to celebrate the life of Ernest F. Hill will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Mark Street officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow the service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Eddie F. Hill, Michael D. Hill, Lloyd Taylor, Mark Hill, Brian Deroucher and Charlie South.Read Obituary
