Ernest Head

Mr. Ernest Head, age 78, formerly of Bristol Highway, Elizabethton, TN passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Hillview Health Center. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late John and Hattie Hill Head. He had worked at Beaunit Fibers and retired from the maintenance department at E.T.S.U. He was a member of Lynnwood Christian Church. Mr. Head was a U.S. Army veteran and he was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #2166.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline Waldrop Head on February 17, 2014; a brother, Eugene Head and two sisters, Hannah Lee Carter and Viola Morgan. Survivors include a sister, Ella Mae Jackson; two brothers, Leslie Head and R. L. Head, all of Elizabethton and a brother-in-law, Alfred Carter, Hampton. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.A service to honor the life of Mr. Ernest Head will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Mark Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, friends, neighbors, his church family, John Jackson, Jerry Vanhoy and Robert Cox.
