Lisa Markland
I was saddened to read of our loss of Aunt Jo. I'm sorry no one contacted us, and we did not know, and wasn't able to honor her respectfully. We would of been there had we known. Aunt Jo was my favorite Aunt, as her and Mom were the closest of sisters. She was a wonderful, beautiful, honest person, with a warm heart, and a sense of humor that was quite fun and very smart. Family was always most important to her.
I loved to hear her and my Mom, Betty Colbaugh Markland laugh together and reminisce. They were very close, although miles away, they never let their distance of states keep them apart. As long as I remember, on our visits to Elizabethton Aunt Jo's house was always the first and last stop, before driving back to Michigan. The goodbyes were always the hardest, the word was never said, she would just say "I'll be seeing you, now don't cry" with hugs and tears.
I know she is happy now in heaven, and reunited with Uncle Paul, Billy, and all of her family.
You are forever in my heart and memories Aunt Jo, of which i have so many to treasure.
I'll be seeing you one day in heaven
Much Love, your neice "Little Lisa"
