"View This Video Tribute"Mr. Eddie Sherrill Jones Sr., 63, 333 Burbank Road, Roan Mountain died Sunday July 10, 2011 at his residence. A native of Avery County, NC he was the son of the late Rev. Dayton Jones and Oda Marie McGuire Jones. Mr. Jones was a farmer and truck driver. He was a member of Old Beech Mountain Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Jones and three sisters, Geneva Jones Henson, Della Ingram and Willa Ruth Bunting. Survivors include his wife, Angela Jones, of the home; a son, Eddie Jones Jr., Newland, NC; two brothers, Rev. Richard Jones, Spruce Pine, NC and Michael Jones, Elk Park, NC and three sisters, Mary Alice Parlier, Elk Park, NC, Evelyn McCoury Dunn, Mountain City, TN and Rachel Ann Jones, Elk Park, NC.  Funeral service for Mr. Eddie Sherrill Jones Sr. will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in the Rhododendron Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Roan Mountain with Rev. Reed Callahan and Rev. Dennis Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the funeral service or at the residence at other times. Interment will follow the funeral service in Minneapolis Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.Read Obituary
