Dexter Donald Cordell

Mr. Dexter Donald Cordell, 85, 110 Treadway Street, Elizabethton died Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the Roan Highland Nursing Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, TN (the Shell Creek Community) he was the son of the late Roscoe and Elizabeth Mable Morgan Cordell. Mr. Cordell was retired from the Shipping Department of North American Rayon Corporation. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Clevenger and Lucille Buck. Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Crystal Cordell, of the home; a son, Christopher Cordell, Rogersville, TN; a granddaughter, Kaleigh Cordell, Kingsport, TN; a special friend, Danny Legge, Elizabethton and all his friends on Treadway Street. Private disposition for Mr. Dexter Donald Cordell will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Dexter Cordell Memorial Fund, 110 Treadway Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.Read Obituary
