Crystal Winters Cordell

Crystal Winters Cordell, age 88, of Treadway Street, Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from Hillview Health Center. Crystal was born January 5, 1931 to the late Sallie Hayes Winters and James McKinley Winters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Cordell; five brothers; Ornard Winters, Justice Winters, Casey Winters, Ralph Winters and Emmett Winters; one sister, Desire Hughes and three nephews; Allen Winters, Jeff Winters and Calvin Winters.Crystal was an active homemaker and loved to care for others. She loved to listen to live music, especially Two Layne Highway. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Chris Cordell; loving friend, Kathy Gilliam; granddaughter, Kaleigh Cordell and sister-in-law, Gladys Winters. Several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.A family graveside service will be conducted at a later date. Ms. Cordell’s wishes were that instead of sending flowers, that anyone who wants to, should make a donation in her name to your local Humane Society or Animal Shelter.Read Obituary
