Oliver, age 65, 1709 Bristol Highway, Elizabethton, TN passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer after extended treatments at Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Earl O. and Theddy M. Turbyfield Rasnick. Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Oliver, of the home; a daughter, Patti Eggers and husband Travis, Elizabethton; a son, Terry Oliver and wife Brenda, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Cody Eggers, McKenzie Eggers, Hannah Oliver, Kayla Peterson and Anna Peterson; great-grandson, Brycen Ridge Eggers; brothers, Mike Rasnick and wife Kathy, Watauga, Jeff Rasnick and wife Arzella, Watauga, Tim Rasnick and wife Debbie, Elizabethton and Doug Rasnick and special friend, Shelby Cole, Elizabethton; sisters, Judy Clawson and husband Bill, Elizabethton, Debbie Jarnigan and husband Rev. Albert Jr., Elizabethton, Gail Hoilman and husband Lee, Spruce Pine, NC, Cathy Massengill and husband Harold, Watauga, Martha Humphrey, Elizabethton and Gena Minton and husband Bobby, Watauga. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service for Mrs. Connie E. Oliver will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Fairview Baptist Church, Watauga Road, with Connie’s brother, Mr. Doug Rasnick and Pastor Kenneth Jordan officiating. Music will be under the direction of Doug Childers and Emery Cordell, soloists and Carson Peters, fiddler. The family will receive friends at the Church from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday prior to the funeral service or at the home of her daughter, Patti Eggers, 117 Jamie Elaine Drive, Elizabethton at other times. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 28, 2012 in the Rasnick Cemetery with Rev. David Ward officiating. Active pallbearers will be Temmy Roberts, Billy Clawson, Bryan Clawson, Junior Humphrey, Eli Rasnick, Joshua Rasnick, Daniel Rasnick and Allen Jarnigan. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Fairview Baptist Church. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 P.M. on Friday for the graveside service.
